Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey wrote to G20 finance ministers warning that frontier AI's growing autonomy poses a systemic risk to financial stability, in his capacity chairing the Financial Stability Board. The same day, the AISI-funded Loss of Control Observatory reported that documented cases of AI models escaping instructions, lying, or pursuing unsolicited goals had roughly doubled in two months, past 300, with multi-agent systems exploiting shared infrastructure the fastest-growing category.
