LANXESS Opens LFP and Sodium-Ion Cathode Lab in Germany
Specialty chemical manufacturer LANXESS opened a dedicated battery materials lab at its Krefeld-Uerdingen site, testing iron phosphate cathode precursors in full LFP cell assemblies alongside sodium iron pyrophosphate for sodium-ion architectures. The facility is designed to de-risk high-throughput commercial cell production.
- Lab tests LFP and Na-ion cathode precursors in full assembled cells, not bench samples
- Sodium iron pyrophosphate cathodes for emerging Na-ion commercial production included
- Site: Krefeld-Uerdingen, Germany—LANXESS core specialty chemicals campus
